What do you get when you cross a furniture designer, an event planner, and a local furniture maker? Answer: Shop Middle West! Our friend Peter Jacob contacted us about a month ago for a new Pop-up Shop concept he was putting together with Ted Velie of Globe Vise & Truck and event planner Jamie Kirby of Heyday Lab. Peter is a furniture and showroom designer (among other things) and we know him to have impeccable taste (from our art school days at Kendall College of Art & Design!) so we said immediately, 'We're in!'. What a fun time we had at Middle West! The space was great, the people were fun, and I have to say that the local design crowd on Friday at happy hour was awesome!!
After the #shopmiddlewest experience, we had another opportunity pop up. We are all about the energy of ArtPrize, and are right in the heart of it this year with a new pop-up shop just a few doors down from Middle West! Along with Globe Vise & Truck, J-Storm Urban Maps, and industrial designer Joey Ruiter, we have set up a temporary shop at 115 S. Division Ave!
Check out Joey's huge prints of his Re-Boot Buggy over our new white-topped Diabox.
Ted from Globe Vise & Truck has industrial modern tables, benches, bookshelves, and bar / island carts... J-Storm urban Maps has printed city wall art, and Guild Nines is showing the first Danebox credenza, along with our white-topped Diabox.
Various samples will be available at the pop-up shop, many at a great discount. The Donut store is to the left (Propaganda Donuts) and the Pasta store to the right (The Local Epicurean). The vibes are fantastic and the city is alive. Come join us and say hello!
Approximate hours are 12-8pm during ArtPrize, Sept 27th-October 12th, 2014 at 115 S. Division Ave, Grand Rapids, MI. Rough hours are 12-8pm daily or during most ArtPrize hours! (occasionally we may stop out to get a coffee or some lunch!)
