WHY 'GUILD NINES'?
There's no such thing as a perfect 10- but that doesn't mean we stop trying. We engineer and design furniture 'to the nines'- the way you would if you could- with the best materials, finishes, and processes. We have worked to find and develop relationships with the most skilled talents to fabricate and design highly resolved, American made furniture. Most materials and parts are sourced no more than a few miles from our shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
MICHIGAN'S FURNITURE & DESIGN HERITAGE
West Michigan is a furniture hub with a rich history in design. The museum archives are full of well-known names like Eames, Noguchi, Rutili, and Robsjohn-Gibbings- and manufacturers such as Widdicomb, Baker, Johnson, and Mastercraft.
Today, West Michigan is still a furniture hub, home to residential and contract furniture manufacturers such as Herman Miller, Steelcase, and Haworth. We have access to both premium lumber and top level metalwork and machining due to the local contract furniture industry and close proximity to the Detroit auto industry, offering an excellent place to design and fabricate.
At Guild Nines, we draw inspiration from our city's heritage companies, and work steadfastly to design and engineer heirloom quality pieces that define the New American Minimalist movement - natural materials, with a blend of hand and detail that is evident in every piece. We are proud to be Made in the USA in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We look forward to over-delivering on your expectations- and sticking around for years to come.
